Jim Fischer was captured by the spirit of the privateer land speed racing enthusiasts He rides a 74 Harley Ironhead Sportster, a former rolling basket case that his wife Barb found in '01 in the Sunday paper. He nursed the bike back to health in his garage, not really thinking of racing at Bonneville. The first year at the flats he rode it in the run "what ya brung" category and the fever hit. Salt fever that is, and the old Harley basket case was transformed three times over the next three years. Achieving the AMA land speed record in its class in 2007. Jim, Barb, and the Ghost will be back racing at the flats in 2009 old Harleys never die . They just get faster, kind of like old Harley riders!
love the bike , simple & fast. .
