Don't Stop Believin' - A Longing for the 80's.
I become crazy about the beautiful strings quartet arrangement of Don't stop believin' contained in the Motion Picture: The Wedding Singer. Don't Stop Believin' is an incredible song of the Eighties composed and played by the great 80's band, Journey. I decided to re-take the Idea of the Chris Boardman's score to make the completion of the Robbie & Linda's Wedding string's arrangement, wich we never hear complete in the movie since the motion just go on, in its own rythm & time. With time the beauty of the song itself and the flow of musical ideas for the derived string's quartet arrangement just take by assault my "eigthier soul", and more instrumental sounds were added, becoming on a "richier" orchestration, and therefore: a brand-new "Chamber Orchestra" arrangement for "Don't Stop Believing" came out of my brain full of 80's, love for music, and affection for synthesizers. I know that I am not making nothing "extraordinaire", This is just a "personal musical extravagance" of my own, that I share with you, the person, in front to the monitor screen. I do not intend to seize the Chris Boardman Arrangment, quite the contrary, I recognize his basic idea to make my own but derived orchestral arrangement. Moreover I love many Journey's songs, synthesizers and of course, I love and miss the "long gone" EIGHTIES. "Please keep reading". Plus: likewise, as many musicians around the globe, I adore Synthesizers, MIDI, and Musical technologies; and for those Synthesizers' lovers and Ensoniq fans, since all orchestration is sounding whit the KT-76: what I'm trying is to show the posibilities and quality of Ensoniq sounds; and reliability of Yamaha's Rm1x hardware sequencer. Please note: I add two more melodic lines to the Neal Schon's GTR solo to create a "three part solo". I hope You enjoy it!

  • hey man great job!! i always watch the wedding part to listen to the orchestra..GREAT SONG!!! by the way what tone did you use for the beginning piano part.(the one that plays in the background throughout the whole song)

  • Hey Latuboii, how you doin' man?

I'm pleased with your comment, thanks. I have the same oppinion as you: Journey's song makes to "Robbie & Linda's Wedding" a great sequence into the movie, (beetwen others: Steve Buscemi, Hall & Oates's song "You make my dreams come true", etc...).

The Sound I use for intro piano is: -28 Harp O' Monix / Strings / RAM Int SOUNDS / Ensonq KT76-. I hope it serve you well. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Keep on listening 80's Music!
