Actually, Stan Lee created the original X-Men which Nightcrawler (Kurt) was not in. He was created later in the newer series by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cokrum.
On another note, he is might fine isn't he?

X-Men Evolution Kurt: His show got cancelled.
X-Men movie Kurt: Does not look like he will be appearing in another X-Men movie for a very long time, if ever.
Wolverine and the X-Men Kurt: I can't watch the show because I don't get that channel, so I actually have no idea.
Poor Kurt. =(

@LuluCarson I Know, it sucks! He's at least still alive in Wolverine in the Xmen, but last I heard that show was getting canceled as well... *sad*
