Story: http://obamapacman.com/2009/12/iphone-orchestra-university-michigan-program-c... They said this pice is not in their program. Our reaction is WTF, is that considered music? Using Apple iPhones as instruments, Michigan Mobile Phone Ensemble plays an electronic "music" piece at Seamus Regional Concert, November 14, 2009, at McIntosh Theatre, University of Michigan. There is a great story behind the U-Michigan iPhone Orchestra though.

  • This isn't actually half bad for what is an experimental piece, would fit really well as background music to 60's Doctor Who. Well done guys look forward to the finished version.

  • Up until now, I was actually thinking of applying for the school of music. Fuck me.

  • It's the sound of an plane !! it's ment to distract oher military forces :)), i would have expected some clasical music not some shty abstract music or what this is

  • I really hope that they do some real music instead of that 5 minutes of nothing but irritating noise

  • Hey! This is a very popular song on their planet.

  • This is something intersting

    I mean sure

    its ridicouls in concept but

its cool that theyre doing it with an iphone

you have to give credit to the director georg essl cuz he is a genius

  • okay...port your movements to an instrument. When I can hear Brandenburg's concerto, give me a call.

  • Wow - I was really excited to hear this, but frankly, it's ridiculous. I suppose you really can get credit hours for anything at U of M...

  • Brilliant work!

Though not the first orchestral arrangement with the iPhone, this is a professional and illustrative demonstration of the potential of the iPhone as an orchestral instrument. The arrangement is also excellent in terms of its musicality it clearly was chosen to fit the parameters of the iPhone's ability to produce sound. Well done!

  • frankly, that sucks

    what a disgrace on iphone
