My Citroën Dealer even warned me "do not buy a C3 pluriel, its a trouble car ".

What a wonderful piece of film, very informative and great for the consumer who is in the market for a Pluriel. TOP GEAR take note, the BBC don't make great road test films anymore.

I found all the details to be very clear. "If it rains today, we are doomed" = "i wanted it to be a full cabrio today and there is obviously no way to do that without leaving the struts at home". They don't HAVE to be left at home, you can just leave them attached at all times, but then you don't have a full cabrio, just a roofless car. See v=B-z1g-MI_N0 and v=FWKOK_HLpiQ
Oops! Sorry it wasn't clear - our mistake. Bear in mind we only drove the car for an afternoon, so it's only a first impression. Just had another look and we do say that with the struts down you can't put the roof up. The roof is still in the boot, and you can put the struts wherever you like (in the passenger seat??) but no struts equals no roof, so you have to be confident of good weather!
