The goal here is to pre-set impact (even to over-do it a bit) with the left knee flexed and forward to put in the secondary axis tilt. You then take an abbreviated backswing and try to stop the club almost immediately after impact by maintaining the flying wedge and extended arms. I could have done better on that in this video, but you can get the gist of it regardless.

  • How far do you hit it with this drill compared to a normal swing?

  • @zephyrpp Anywhere from 50 to 75% as far. It's tough to get the hip turn you normally get.

  • I played today and really focused on setting my weight forward and struck the ball very well. This should be more of a fundamental taught. It really helps to get the steepness needed to strike the irons solidly imo.
