  • Yes, there was. The triangle of land immediately behind the engine here used to be a goods yard sidings. The shed was the other side of the main road forming the third side of the triangle, the other 2 sides being the lines in the foreground - if that makes sense! As a young teenager I visited the shed during the final days of BR steam in 1968. It's long since been demolished.

  • Such a huge shame that BR demlished almst all of it's steam sheds. A few more would be useful for steam shed. The NW has Carnforth, the west has Didcot, Scotland has Fort William, the NE has the NRM at Y0rk + Barrw Hill and the west has Didcot. As far as i know that is the lot. A few mor here and there, Particularly in the suth would be very welcome.
