Postmodern theology casts serious doubts about the ability of human languages to validly transmit meaning from authors to readers in a different culture. This means that the meaning of the Biblical writers is obscured to modern readers. To solve this supposed problem postmodern theologians claim that the readers determine the meaning of the Scriptures.
