Just wanna let you know.I got a letter in the mail that says. BMW has decided that a defect which relates to certain model 02-05 3 series sedans. thie issue involes the rear lamps, it involves the portion of the lamp the cars rear quarter panel. the the tail lights, break light, blinker within the rear quarter panel may stop working.the trunk lid is not affected. If this happens it will show the light you were having problems with.they have recalled it. Idk if you got a letter. but just n case

nope i believe there is a recall on E46 for rear taillight defective ground wire

your problem is the ground contact in the plug.
Before you begin, you get a plug, it breaks easily!
press the cable lug of the ground cable a bit together
so that the contact is made better
and finally use kontact spray!
ps: also enter on the right-side contact spray!
