This run had such a god awful temple guard layout. The only chance the team could win is if they entered the Cave of Sighs. Although the frontrunner set himself up for the second temple guard by taking the long way around the temple.
And the second runner was very stupid. Just look how she backtracks to the Observatory :-|

He missed the open door in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey that could have lead him to the Tomb of the Ancient Kings.

Is he gonna burst through the wall? OOH NICE BURST THROUGH!

@jx9936 i don't think they have a choice whether they can go up or down if it's in the center room

if the artifact is at the center of the temple, make sure u go downwards n up!! any journey from the top of the temple will never achieve a victory!!!

Tough layout, but he wasted TONS of time with the Pirates Cove and the Dungeon. Should have gone down from the Shrine--that door is always so hard to see. Ironically, not that he could have known, he would have been better-served to go in through the Cave of Size, get himself eliminated quickly so that his partner (with a full pendant) could reach the waterbottle (although she seems like no shining bright bulb, so maybe it didn't matter either way.)
it looks like a couple of contestants were the before and didnt make it! what a cheeseball!

This run gets my vote for "Most Brutal Temple Guard Placement"— reasons why is because James completed a maximum of NINE objectives only to get captured by the second guard in the Room of Harmonic Convergence; Jessica had no chance of reaching the Water Bottle— I think that's why she backtracked to the Observatory.
Conversely, they weren't granted access to any shortcuts besides the Shrine-Ancient Kings vertical passage and the fact that the other guard would've been in the Cave of Sighs.
