I made this for EdSRocksMySocks "Tell Me Your Secret" Contest. So therefore, it is AU (alternate universe).

**Won 3rd place!!*

Hermione is headed up to the headmaster's office one evening and ends up stumbling upon a secret meeting amongst the teachers. We only hear the tail end of the conversation, but she learns that the teachers are plotting against the Ministry (starting a wizard army of students), and Dumbledore wants to be Minister of Magic. She's discovered, tortured, and her is memory removed. She is too talented of a witch to be disposed of. However, she wakes up the next morning remembering everything that happened the night before.

Everyone else in the wizarding world is convinced that Dumbledore only has everyone's best interest at heart.

She finally works up the nerve to tell Harry and Ron after they catch her crying, but Harry refuses to believe her. Ron tries to remain neutral between the two. She tries to talk to Harry again, but he refuses to listen, and there always seems to be a teacher watching.

A dueling club is started at school to "train" the students to defend themselves. Between that and how classes are now being conducted, Hermione is positive that she's right about what she saw.

After practice one night, Harry heads up to Dumbledore's office to talk, but finds his pensieve instead. He warily approaches it, only to discover Hermione's memory of what happened the night she was there. He immediately runs back to the dormitory to find Ron and Hermione.

I would really appreciate if there were no bashings of my "timeline". Yes, I know that Lockhart and Moody never taught at the same time, but the Lockhart stuff just fit too perfectly for me not to use. ;D
