I never comment on here, and I know I'm putting myself out there now, but it looks like Leetch PASSED that puck to Bure. Then Bure, being one of the strongest skaters in recent history, tumbles to the ice after getting tapped on the leg by none other than Brian Leetch. I hate conspiracy theories, but that play has always seemed strange to me.

Players are better. Hockey was very slow then, as the defence got much better before the next generation of scorers, the current one, came around. Bure was an exception in what was a very dull time.

The game is faster now. The 80's had terrible defence and stand-up goaltending, the new guys are just as good as the best, but the 90s were rightfully called the dead-puck era.

It's new equipment and a crop of good players as much as any rule changes. That and cameras closer to the action.

I would say after about maybe '92ish the game developed more. Goalies were coming in playing butterfly style goaltending and defensemen were better. But yeah, I agree, before that we see some of the weakest looking goals mainly because of the stand up goaltending. What I'm gettin at is in Bure's prime, the game was equally as challenging as it is today (maybe even less for forwards due to the new rules)

No, not all-time. Just this one and the 3 times before it. Pronger's was the first Stanley Cup Finals Penalty Shot to be successful.
