  • It show us that geisha's job isn't just an ordinary entertainer, they are also something idol group nowaday ..

  • @XoxSkittlesChickXox Or maybe the fact that they raped and murdered 300,000 people in Nanking. Not every country is perfect. It's not like the US was bored and decided "Hey I feel like bombing something." It happened for a reason.

  • It's hard to see/believe that this beautiful country got bombed twice. :C

  • @kruthix No, geisha can dance and play music in groups (look at the Kyo Odori, Asuma Odori, etc.) and the new girl that looks uncoordinated in the clip may have been a new maiko.

  • Interesting video. In many ways, certain cultural activities in Japan today look very similar to this old film clip. If you had black and white film, and intentionally made the recording look old with some editing tricks, you could nowadays capture the same look and feel at some temple in Kyoto during a festival.

  • Judging from the uncordination of the dances these are not real geisha including the fact that geisha would usually only dance solo

  • @TofuCowsGoesMOO Some were definitely maiko, you can tell by their hairstyle. They did become geisha younger back then... but they were also waaaaaaaay tinier back then. They look like little people... if you know what i mean.

  • I think these are actually geisha and apprentice geisha from Kyoto o-o

They were so young back then ><

  • These hardly look like "professional" entertainers, since there is no co-ordination in the dance moves and the girls look very young. And just how hard could it be to learn to beat a drum?

  • they looks like porcelain dolls.
