This is the first episode of the original Die by the Sword story line. I'm playing it on the hardest setting and will try to upload them as a series as I finish them.

  • This should get a wii remake. The controls were very uncomfortable with a mouse. Still finished it like a boss because it was awesome. I liked Severance better though.

  • @AnonRanGER01 I didn't use a mouse, i used keyboard vsim. I have a hard time actually believing one can be very effective in this game using wii. but to each his own i suppose.

Well, it's been a really long time since I played this, but I remember the controls to be very quirky. I just thought that since you freely control your sword arm, this would be nice for wii.

  • @AnonRanGER01 Sort of. I know there's videos by youtube user cpkppp where he shows the use of wii with DBTS, but the issue i have with the idea of using a wii with DBTS stems from what i know about the idiosyncrasies of VSIM. Because the character moves his limbs at a set rate, you'd wind up actually using your wii to "steer" the arm, rather than to move it freely. VSIM is not implemented with a truly free movement style in mind.. with the keypad i have precise control over each vsim function.

  • main hero is such a badass, that's why i love this gaem

  • @pronislaw I like him because he's so funny, it's great how they didn't design this game as if you'd take the main character seriously. it's very tongue in cheek.

  • this game will teach you about being a man

  • i liked how you could pickup limbs and enemy weapons and use them against their former owners.

    Fair enough. :)

  • @dageezerboi I'm not really sure what arcade mode was either, i only used it for like 5 minutes in tutorial and then decided i'd rather use vsim. I think arcade mode was just a set of macros for doing basic attacks like right swing, left swing, upper swing, downward swing as opposed to the vsim method of explicitly articulating those movements directly with the controls.

  • @Greymerk It actually did use vsim iirc although to a more simplified level compared to DBTS but it had a similiar, hard to master, feel. I dont know what the arcade mode in DBTS was I just used the mouse but yeah it was probably like that. I dont really remember though, i played it when it was first released and not for all that long..I dont think you could chop limbs off though..

  • @dageezerboi no i haven't but damn, i just watched a video about it and it even has similar sound effects and animations and stuff. The only thing is that it looks like it handles in a way similar to the arcade mode. What's special about die by the sword is vsim control, which i've never seen since. It's really unique.
