@inscitia you are right, it does show a lower intelligence level; however, it's truly not German stereotypes which are being made fun of in this clip. The viewers may be of low intelligence and so they think a German stereotype is being made fun of. Truly intelligent people who watch 30 Rock enjoy the very subtle hints and jokes but the stupid people laugh at the wrong things without even knowing the true humour of it.

" 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe..."
This poem by Lewis Carroll uses neologisms - invented real-seeming words. It indeed sounds English but otherwise is of no meaning. People with a very solid command of the English language(and of grammar, in general)will find this nonsense poem amusing. Maybe German neologisms aren't funny to Germans because of all the offensive neologisms used in Nazi propaganda:(

It's true, Germans combine many words into a single one, but this is ridiculous.
My favorite Liz Lemon German scene is with the guy saying "hubcap(?)"

@1kissforyou1 "Ist Jenna mit Gerhardt?" ist, aber du hast recht. Ja, nicht von Liz!

@CeruleanSightings Totally. I'd hate to be a foreigner learning english. Phonetically, we suck.

@inscitia that time of the month?

@uiruu I know German and it's still not funny. Stereotypes are only funny to those, who doesn't know better. It shows a lower intellectual level.
-
@inscitia Says the one with grammar mistakes. Anyway, it is a joke. It's funny to those who know German, because they know she actually didn't say "yes". It's funny to those who don't speak German because it fits the stereotype of the German language being long and ugly.

@uiruu It may be a joke, but that doesn't mean that it's funny. -.- You should think, before you type.
Das ist kein Deutsch.
