I actually preferred Snyder's ending. It was much more cohesive, and now felt as if it had been building to it, as opposed to Moore's out of left field ending.

In the comics, Veidt builds a giant squid monster, and transports it to New York, while setting off some type of sonic boom. So it kills millions of people, and makes it look like some type of alien invasion.

In the movie he frames Dr. Manhattan.

I dissagree, The Dark Knight was an impeccably crafted film in its own right, Ledgers peformance just turned the film into a downright masterpiece.

@myrkeyjones The Dark Knight is also an original story, unlike the Watchmen movie, which is an adaptation of the graphic novel. Don't get me wrong. Watchmen is a great movie, but it's only as good as the graphic novel made it.

@ERoBB1 I have to disagree with you there, Dr Manhattan was a weapon of the US, an instrument of power. Even though he left earth he would still be strongly associated with the US and it makes little sense that the Soviet Union and the US would join together against an originally US weapon. Moore's ending makes more sense since the squid is a completely outside threat. But both endings keep the core significance, what Ozymandias is willing to sacrifice to ensure peace.

I have seen all of these supposed extra scenes in the Cinema when I saw the film. Was the European version uncensored or something?
