This is a Harbor Freight 1/2" Earthquake impact gun taking off a 1995 Volvo 850 crank pulley nut. The car was in the NE for about 8 years then in NC. It was quite rusted.
The 1/2" Earthquake is a good impact, basically a Taiwan copy of the IR "Thundergun". 400 ft-lbs of torque with a max of 625 (whatever that means). I have it hooked up to a 25 gallon 150 PSI Craftsman compressor. The outlet pressure is set to 90 PSI running, so at the tool right around 85. Hi-flo connectors were used, and it was hooked to a 25' hose.
SK (USA) impact sockets were used.
As you can see, it takes the crank pulley off with no problems. Impressive!
Boring demonstration.
