@hesstgmc - It means they think she can no longer sing and should retire. Some people also thought that about Frank Sinatra near the end of his career! That is just one person's opinion.

The power and vibrato in Streisand's voice may be diminishing, but the tone and crystal clarity in her voice is still very much in tact. There are countless songs that her now "mature" voice would suit, not to mention the countless songs in her own staggering collection that she is still more than capable dusting off and performing again. Don't count out Barbra just yet.

Anyone who knows anything about voices can clearly hear an illness here, especially when she is speaking. Ms Streisand knows she is not at her best and has the intelligence to avoid the notes that could actually harm her voice. She did not cancel, she did not pretend to be better than how she was feeling but she did have the grace and flexible pride of a true star. Don't criticize. Bow down and be grateful to have heard her. Ms. Streisand is and always will be the one true Voice.

A major Babs fan I may be, but I have always upheld the belief that her voice is not as it was in the 60's. But then she didn't have that voice in the 70's, or that voice in the 80's. Every decade Barbra goes from high to high, triumph to triumph, conquering new heights - her voice evolving to suit her mood, and her voice now is warm and eternal, just like she is now. So what, it may not be crystal clear or pure, but boy is she far from over, so long as she keeps trying, she'll continue to wow.

We keep thinking of Barbra as she USED to be but this Barbra NOW and she is STILL the premier vocalist from her generation. Quit the negativity and bitching everyone!!
