Amy Winehouse drinking vodka in cornershop before going to rehab

RIP Amy Winehouse is on here way to the rehab in London The Priory clinic. She enters a alcohol shop (or should I say a Wineshop :-) and drinks a mini bottle of Vodka. Early in the morning...On her way to the Priory, the already-drunk singer stopped off at a bottle shop and bought a miniature bottle of vodka.

"She seemed out of it," an onlooker told The Sun. "She was stumbling about, slurring her words. I was shocked to see her buy vodka so early in the day, and even more shocked to see her knock it straight back."

Just minutes earlier, the 27-year-old had stormed into a nearby hair salon and demanded to use the toilet. When she emerged, she told shocked staff, "I just puked all over your bathroom."

Amy's rep denies that his client actually vomited, insisting she was just "joking" But he did confirm, "Amy's embarked on treatment at The Priory."

Yeah, she was an alcoholic. That's what they do, that's what they need. If she was on her way to rehab it means she was going into treatment. The small fucking nib of vodka let her get to rehab where they have alternatives to deal with withdrawl symptoms. Addiction doesn't make someone a bad person. RIP Amy.

Amy would be so excited to know how many people and fans have come to show their respect.. Amy was first of all a human being, then a singer, anything else does not matter. She had a loneliness and a pain that some of us will never know, unless we have been in her shoes. If you were not addicted to anything and you are PERFECT, then you have no reason to judge her.

Alcohol withdrawal didn't kill her, as the autopsy showed, she was extremely intoxicated at the time of her death. Don't be so defensive, just stating a fact, not some half assed theory I have dreamt up in my head.

@CaramelCleo Absolutely right. As one who has been there, a nip of the "hair of the dog" can stop the trembling & nausea. That's why addicts get up & immediately have a drink. Abrupt alcohol withdrawal can actually kill an alcoholic--which is probably what happened to Amy.

When I think about the wee girl writing those marvellous songs & singing in front of thousands with that glorious contralo voice, even as her addiction took over, I still have to fight the tears. Amy we love you still.
