This is the first stocking or roughing cut on a bevel gear.
The machine is a vintage Gleason automatic bevel gear planer.
Capacity is 24", rated 1 1/2dp in cast iron and 2 dp in steel
This is a 7/8 circular pitch gear
I have been told this machine predates 1926
The machine follows templates to form gear teeth.
