Outland - The Winged Serpent (Boss Battle)

The Winged Serpent can prove more annoying then anything else. The first phase is simple a marathon to the end. The first phase is divided into two areas where the former is simple and requires a quick reflexes in changing Light and Dark but the latter uses orbs for Launch, accuracy with Launch is a must. Either way, both running area's require reflex. Majority of the time, trying to jump over a block will result in grabbing onto the edge or getting stuck, even with the smallest of blocks; using Ground Slide is the best option.

Phase 2 has the Warrior riding the Serpent. Bombs start to float down toward the back of the Serpent, these come slow at first and can be destroyed easily. At first this is simply, three orbs on the Serpents back will gain a color and need to be hit with a Stomp from the opposing color to be destroyed. After destroying the orbs the Serpents wings will rise up and start launching a colored attack that corresponds to the orb over it while bombs come a lot faster. The mechanics are the same but speed is a must since the bombs can eventually become over whelming.

After another set of orbs, the helm of the Serpent will break off with a Red color. Race towards it and attack for any bombs first in order to attack the head a bit quicker. Bombs will come faster but the small gap in the beginning should be enough to take the Serpent down.

How did you get so much health? I only have 6 :(

@Scougre A lot of the upgrades are broken off into hidden chambers. Look around for walls just seems like they're crumbling or walls with gaps at the bottom, to slide in, and typically there will either be money jars or a health upgrade. There's actually a few of them located in the first stage, forest area; maybe around 3.

Finally got him, just a tip, if you wanna clear out some bombs, use the shield thingy.

The running part takes memory, the second part takes skill, and all through you need to pray to Odin.

i'm so fucking dumb that it never occurred to me to attack the bombs to clear a path or get health. i couldn't figure out how it was humanly possible to get past the rain of them on the third run

8. This means the end (left to right) run is VERY HARD, as it alot easier to should stomp from right to left you need to get accross the colour shower (changing colour to match the shower) whilst dodging the bombs and then JUMP BACK switch colour to stomp the jewel and then instantly changing back and carrying on with the next one

9. My opinion is if you take it slow up until the last head jewel and retain your health, you can then not bother dodging the bombs during the head jewel

6.I would just make sure you have at least 4 hearts for the last jewel on the head of the serpent and not bother trying to dodge (after you hit it with the yellow energy strike)

it only needed a a 2/3 hits for me), it isnt worth it IMO

7. As someone else said start on the left jewel, work your way right, then leftt, then right so you end up ready to hit the jewel on the head of the serpent

4. Also after you stomp the jewels be sure to instantly change back to the colour corresponding to the shower head so then you can concentrate on dodging the bombs

5. Save your (I had one of these) yellow energy for the last jewel on the ehad and hit it immediately after the penultimate jewel) it takes alot of health off and should leave it with only a couple of strikes left

here are some tips

1 Take your time, (obvious but the minute you start rushing it goes tits up)

2. When stomping on the jewels in the 2nd and 3rd phase make sure you stomp right to left as the bombs come in at an angle from right to left also making it easier to dodge them

3. If you find your self low on hearts get to the far left of the serpent (on the tail next to the spikes) and keep destroying the bombs (opposite colour of course). It takes ages but some bombs (like 1 in 10 drop hearts)

@Me8129 Yes it was hard probably did it on my 20th attempt (about 2 hrs it took) but I did only have 8 hearts with 5 left when I defeated it (so the boss only took off 3 hearts!), where as the two prior boss (the priestess and spider) both took about 5/6 attempts for me

Just beat him! Very hard but if you persist you'll beat him!
