Adopted as a full-grown cat, Mr. Puss had a previous home that he was adopted into. He didn't like it there, however, and, although about 6 miles out of town, he trekked the miles-on a major interstate highway-went back to town (and there are a lot of predator birds in this area, eagles, hawks, owls that will eat cats), and actually found his way into the middle of that city to his former home. They advertised again, and now he lives with me. He's been here several years, now, is house-broken (doesn't use a litter box) and has never run away. He can jump up a wall almost to the ceiling. He's very heavy (just stocky, not overweight) and loves to chase birds and squirrels. He loves to go out in the grass and lie beneath the lilac hedge and nap. He's a people cat, and most everywhere I go outside, he's there with me. The previous owner named him Puss In Boots, but I call him Mr. Puss, Kitty Baby, or Arri Gato (as in the Japanese word for thank you-what little Japanese my mother tried to teach me, that I retained). Gato, of course is cat, in Spanish, so it works. He loves to eat chicken. that's his favorite food. He has the bluff on all the dogs, but loves to play with Spooky, who is very protective of him. Spooky puts Mr. Puss' whole head in his mouth, playing, but never hurts him. They love each other...and Spooky is a very big dog. The odd couple. :)
