One of the great almost lost and forgotten acts in rock and roll. Jan Berry (April 3, 1941 March 26, 2004) and Dean Torrence (March 10, 1940) produced some for best surf music ever made. Jan Berry was also a world-class record producer.

Man I'm stupid...the shadowy figure was YOU!! I didn't connect the post to the video. That turntable looks in great shape.

The turntable is a Magnavox Micromatic from 1965. I t was given to me by its original owner, a guy named Bob. He passed away about a year after he gave it to me. One of the last things he said to me was "Take care of it".

That was the early 60s--privately-owned street machines with incredible amounts of horsepower available, but, generally, suspensions and braking systems inadequate for the people behind the wheel. Blend in the all the natural elements of adolescence (sense of immortality, willingness to take any dare, reckless disregard for one's own or others' safety) and trouble was naturally going to follow. But, "killing others drivers out of pleasure"? I'm not sure you were there in that place or time!

this is the equivalent of death-metal in the 60's - death, killing other drivers out of pleasure, disregard for human life.

Ahh great memories! Thanks! Can't help but think if he or the Jag would have been more adept at drifting, then Deadman's Curve would not have been more than a lil hitch-up in the get-along.
