This is a 0-60 video of the new turbo setup. I had pulled a T-25 off a Saab 9000. I started over from scratch with a new manifold and welding technique. The intercooler was mounted into the bumper away from the radiator to prevent heat soaking and all the piping was ceramic coated.
You can see this setup here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0WhymWjtSc&feature=channel

With this setup I originally ran 6psi. Last week I upped the boost to 7.5 and shot this video. For those that think that a 8ish second 0-60 is bad remember that the 0-60 time is nearly 30 seconds for a stock 3 cylinder automatic. This run was on 91octane, thank goodness that Sunoco has an alternative to premium! 89 not enough octane, 93 just a hair too much!

  • i adore you !!! i own a 1996 geo metro 1.0L 3 cyl 5 speed, and when i say that i want to make it a turbo project all my friends are laughing at me... but you my friend, done well... i can see the metro accelerate much faster... any idea how much HP gain ? and i wonder if you can make me a same turbo kit for the same price ^^...

since all my friend keep mocking me and don't want to help...

Turbinetech.ca makes a bolt on kit, you will just need to make a coolant temp sensor mod for the extra fuel. i highly sugest going to teamswift and reading up, it is a site dedicated to the Suzuki G-series engines, I read for over a year before I bought my first turbo...now I have 7......lol

  • whats the point of this? im not tryin to dog on anybody but seriously, why turbo that thing? im actuallyreally curiouse cuz for the cost of what u spent between the car and boost setup u can buy a way quicker whip.

  • @drtyeurodub

car was free, the setup was less than 500 total, and the point was to learn the theory of turbo charging. If you can turbo a metro, you can turbo anything!

that and because I hate hondas

  • wow thats sick, now its like moven with a small 7.5 pounds thats crazy haha

  • @ridin4life100

hahaha, thanks. I just bought the 16v 1.3 DOHC swift GTi this week, cant wait to turbo that!

  • 8.5 0-60 alot better than stock these little guys can usually barely get over 55 large improvement Props man

  • Hi nice work! im interested how you managed to tune it? did you just use a Standalone or ....

  • I used to own one of these cars and I have to say it was the cheapest POS I have ever owned. I bought it for the mileage and at best it only got 52 mpgs to the gallon. That and I had to put over 7000 into it just to keep it running. Everything on the car broke. The CRX that I owned was much funner to drive and got at best 64.1 mpgs.

  • @southwest82 where did you purchase your 16v 1.3 DOHC??

  • About 8.5 or 9 seconds to 60. Your old was about 10. Stock is like 18. Good job. Any future plans?

  • how come you dont do a manual swap? you could pick up a lot of speed with a manual over a 3 speed auto

  • nice

  • @southwest82 no doubt no doubt

  • @southwest82 bolt on kit means literally ? like i even can do it myself with basic tools and my limited mechanic skills ? is that the same kit you use ? and how to make a coolant temp sensor mod ?

thanks a lot for the info though... because i seriously want to turbo my Metro... ^^
