@dotster35 My RC plane budget fell to 0 for the rest of 2011 due to upcoming expenses but it may not cost much to get the PBF working. It's a good thing I waited and learned that I definitely need a vertical stabilizer otherwise my maiden flight would have resulted in it going sideways and stalling. I seriously doubt I'll be able to get it to fly my 1st 5 attempts but if I keep learning and tweaking, I'm sure it'll eventually fly. I also got addicted to Portal 2 and started to Mt. bike a lot.

how many brake pads you go through a month?

@planeskiller I have disc brakes. I replace the pads about once per year. I've got a cool 5 part blog with pics of why I switched to disc brakes. Google: patrick james coston asian adventures too hot to handle part 1. I tried biking down the highest mountain in Penang Malaysia and learned that your rim can heat up so hot, your inner tube fails or you can brake so hard, your tire shifts backwards ripping off the nozzle. I made 5 attempts hence 5 parts.

You race really? Gee them roots really stuffed you up how long you been riding? Id strongly advise against a full face for what your riding not enough ventilation stop trying to look hard core and just buy an xc helmet

@gillylikesbikes I used to race. I'm 48 years old. I'm not as extreme as I used to be. My skills have definitely decreased. I raced BMX from age 14 to 24. I always wanted a full face helmet but couldn't afford it. So yeah, I got it to fulfill some kind of dream I had as a kid. I have smashed a few of those XC helmets meaning I gave myself a good concussion. The full face keeps my head warm in the winter. I ride nearly every day of the year mostly commuting to work. I know it looks stupid.

I like the rear view with the wildlife moving around the trees behind you. Like having eyes in the back of your head, that's the stuff you don't see.

@johnw5734 at 2:35 it appears something jumps across the branches. It does appear you can see all kinds of things in the trees. I wonder how much of that is illusion. I will be attempting to do this run in under 15 minutes. Unfortunately I can't go full speed around the turns on that first hill since I can't see if there is anyone around the bend so I have to keep hitting the brakes. I walked the trail this past Sunday with a sickle trimming the best route through the high grass for safety.
