I think what annoyed us the most was sending back the bust of Churchill and the message conveyed. We sent that over as a sign of solidarity after 9/11. To send it back is, quite frankly, offensive.

And the administration worker who said we were no more special than any other country...should remember who lent the US credibility with the europe when they decided to invade Iraq. Perhaps the UK should pull all our troops out of Afghan and Iraq and refuse your intelligence agents place in the UK?

Obama is perhaps getting at Brown. Not the British people. No one likes Brown. Not even any Brit with half a mind. Though if he does this with the next Prime Minister (even if the next one is a total dick which 90% he will be). If Obama does not treat him/her in a similar way. There will be a lot of problems. Thing is when he went to see the Queen, and meet the British public he was fantastic.

such disrespect i dont care much for obama now , i mean what brown gave to the prisdent , it wasent just a pen it was 2 other things as well , and all he got wasDVDS i mean god , and also the churchil talk about snubbing , seeing as we bloody went to war with the uas in irag sending 47,000 troops fleet of ships etc, and no other nation provided more than 1,800 troops for irag!

@NAGGERNUTZ Thanks buddy. As a liberal-minded and pro-US Brit I was really upset to see this happen. I had high hopes for Obama. But I was incandescent at this gesture. He is openly anti-British. We ARE your most loyal allies and friends, but Obama seems to think we are dogs.

Ps: sorry about the arrogant way BP handled the oil-spill crisis initially. I hope they get a grip and rectify it ASAP. British people were pissed off with the way that it was handled, it just fuelled the bad feeling.
