Featured on http://www.robots-dreams.com - Taylor Veltrop, more well known for his work with humanoid robotics, also likes to create robots using LEGO Mindstorms. This particular multi-legged/multi-wheeled creation is capable of climbing stairs and moving across other difficult terrain totally autonomously. Taylor demonstrated the robot at Robot Japan First, held April 10, 2011 in Tokyo.

  • You might be able implement this design into motorized wheelchairs. A lot of wheelchair bound people live in homes with stairs that currently use elevators or other devices. This could prove useful and save them money. I can't imagine how much an elevator must cost to have in your home.

  • @NewSimpleadams Careful, your innane sub-fur-sub mentality is showing.

  • wow, lots of traction.

  • @NewSimpleadams Japan got together 14-15million dollars in relief money for Hurricane Katrina. So yes, they did help. Stop being an insensitive jerk.

  • @f0615388 Well, I'm pretty sure if there was an earthquake in America the Japanese people would care less. So why should i donate?

  • @NewSimpleadams You say they should help, yet how many times have you ever donated to Disasters reliefs, or to charity? This is a pointless discussion.

  • @WodeBolder Well you're on YouTube aswell and no i shouldnt, i live in America not in Japan... so not my problem. But they do live in Japan so they COULD help but instead they build tiny little lego robots =]

  • @WodeBolder Jeez, so much unnecessary aggression.

  • @NewSimpleadams shouldn't you be doing the same? instead of sitting on youtube? at least playing around with robots might have some practical application some day,,

  • Instead of building tiny little stupid robots shudnt they be helping with the earthquake problems?
