  • I've long wondered about Boulez's Ainsi parla Zarathoustra. I don't suppose it was ever recorded, or was it?

  • I believe the hammer is used in Berg's Three Orchestral Pieces which Boulez has conducted. Of course, it has another significance too.

  • I love the picture of Boulez with the hammer. Where did you find that?!

  • "Poems of power" would be a very poor translation of Michaux's titlae. Several meanings are possible in fact: "Poetry for power", Poems for power", "Poetry to power", poems to power" but the most accurate for me would be "Poetry to be able"

  • This is, of course, not Boulez's best or most representative work. But I thought the circumstances of its creation were interesting enough to merit posting it. Thanks for your comment! I see you have posted his 12 Notations - I'll go listen to it...

  • Or rather, "le maitre avec marteau', ha ha ha

I like the music, Boulez electronical.

  • Ahaha, "le marteau sans maitre"... !

    Good one.

  • thank you!
