They exist because blacks and some others are not viewed as human beings by those who treat them. It is bad enough that the medical profession judges people based on their weight, education, the way they dress, speak or what they complain about. Add ethnicity or color to the mix along with poor training by apathetic attendings and you get today's health care and NOT medical environment. People are apathetic and dumbed down thus those who train to care for others.
Racism has many faces, this is just one of them.
