  • I like this performance a lot. There is something missing from this tenor's voice that keeps me from getting really excited. The package is there, the technique, looks, acting, I think that it's a squillo thing for me. Make no mistake- I think that he is a tremendous talent! For me, Vickers is the most compelling Florestan though.

  • Jonas Kaufmann is one of the greatest tenors of the last few years!! His technique is just incredible. I heard him as Lohengrin together with Anja Harteros at Munich. It was impressive!!

    Florestans' Aria is one of the most difficult arias for tenor and in my opinion Kaufmann's interpretation is the best!

  • Apparently he doesn't have the voice for this kind of repertoire. It's painfully staking to finish listening to this.

  • @mwk12kev So ein Unfug. Kaufmann singt an der Opéra National de Paris, La Monnaie in Brüssel, Teatro alla Scala in Mailand, bei den Salzburger Festspielen, an der Met, dem Royal Opera House London, und an der Wiener Staatsoper - glaub mir: der kann auch leise singen, und man hört es trotzdem.

  • Perfekte Diktion, auch in den hohen Lagen ist der Text noch voll verständlich. Da ist nichts geknödelt. Und die Interpretation - der ständige Wechsel zwischen Hoffnung und Verzweiflung - ist grandios gelungen. Danke, Jonas!
