Traditional Dai dance by Dao Meilan. The dai dances of today have too much ballet influences, and are too focused on form and posture rather than fluidity and femininess that is essential to Dai dance. Hopefully this video can show how feminine and soft Dai dance used to be.
This fills me with the urge to play pretend like I used to as a little girl. I think I'll do that tomorrow.

Found out she is Dai or specifically TaiLue. She is a famous dancer in China. Also noted that she made the peacock dance one of the most recognize ethnic folk dance back in the 70's and it turned in to a fad.
