What if they just kept going with the sizes and kept getting more sillier. A basketball player could come in for 7 feet, Big Bird could be 8 feet, a tree could walk (walk?) in for 9 feet, and then an elephant could come in for 10 feet. XD XD XD.

By the way the Dad stretches his son upwards, it also acts as a signal that the other family members must take out pieces one by one and pull the post downwards. I think that's the job of the turtle. The dog's probably doing all the sawing. The sister and the mom was probably holding the post.;)

Rofl ur so funny but if an axe or saw was being used, then why did the dad have to stretch his arms so high?

It's simple. While the camera focuses on the boy holding the ball, the turtle, the dog, the sister and the mom cuts down the post with the other numbers. Maybe using an axe or a saw. Then they all pull down the post carefully so it will be level with the boy so that he'll shoot the ball into the hoop. Thus creating the illusion that the father was really tall.:D
