If you use a dehydrator for long term food storage, you might want to consider getting a slow cooker as a great way to both rehydrate and to cook. one large slow cooker can make enough food for 2 - 3 people (just about! best to supplement with rice!) and if you have a family of four, you would probably be better off owning two largish slow cookers for each meal (lunch or dinner in the evening) being a total of four slow cookers all told.
