Why has NOONE posted the ENTIRE category.....including the other nominees...without the background music....(as much as I love Tina Turner!!).........now that Susan Lucci and Genie have their Emmys, I wonder if Melody Thomas Scott from Y&R will ever win one. Tsk...tsk..

Love Genie Francis and Laura (her alter ego), and have since she married Luke when I was in school!! She really deserved this award!! It was because of her I actually cut classes in engineering school ....had to keep up on things.

I think they should have found a recast for Laura as soon as Genie started to get overwhelmed in 1981. I'm sure Genie would be more anxious to grace us with her presence more often if the Luke and Laura/Cassidine storyline wasn't dependant on her being there

genie francis is a good actress, i liked her on north and south , where she played brett main ,she played along side the best of actors, including the late patrick swayze, who was great. but i also liked her as laura on general hospital.

I watched this and I cried when she finally won. She looks sooo beautiful and she deserved the award and should have won many other times. Come Back, Genie..She got a standing ovation!!!
