Hindhead Tunnel

The Hindhead Tunnel is located on the London to Portsmouth A3 dual carrigeway

It's cost £371 million and taken four-and-a-half years to build.

30,000 vehicles are expected to use it every day.

Safety features include the UK's first radar-based incident detection system and 100% CCTV coverage.

The tunnel will cut journey times by around 20 minutes or more at busy periods - and will deliver a threefold return on investment for the economy.
