The sad thing is next time we have a world war it will quite possiably kill 5x as many people, war is hell.
-
War is hell and anyone who says otherwise is a iggnorant sonofabitch
-
I think that all 'young men' ought to stop and think about 'war', if they begin to understand it, even a little bit, they might not be so keen to have one.
-
i thought that whe they went over the top they left their full gear because it was too heavy

@WARXDEVILXALAN I'm real glad you enjoyed the film, and I hope it will be useful for your own re-enactments

You are quite right. What the cadets experienced was nothing like the reality of the war. Which was why I used some of the real images and words to help us understand just a little

Why do they call it the Short Magazine Lee Enfield. During the Great War the rifle was called the Short Lee Enfield Mk III. The Short Magazine Lee Enfield or SMLE didn't come out until the 1920s. If you ever look at a Lee Enfield rifle on the receiver prior to the 1920s the engraving around the neck connecting the forestock to the buttstock will ready Sht. L.E. Have a couple of them. One dated 1908 and other 1913.

I'm awfully sorry, I don't know why they used the wrong name for the firearm, but they were only schoolboys re-enacting. I only filmed it!
