@nflavour No, you can use it . Make another partition in matrix raid, and you can partition it in windows any way you wish... just the first partion of the drives (short stroke) will be extremely fast..

@k24boy123 Ultimate Sweet spot = 45gig slice achieving about 97MB/s Then you have two other options 70gig slice = about 94 MB/s or 130gig slice = about 92 MB/s RAID 0 with four drives using the USP = 388 MB/s SP1 = 376 MB/s SP2 = 368 MB/s

I'm getting a x58 3-way classified and am planning on doing 4 WD 640gb Short Stroked as well. I've never done raid b4 so this helped alot.

640gig sweet spot is 200 gig each! so 800 gig total size. Gonna ROCK!

So this means With 4 80GB drive, you'd normally have 300GB for raid 0. but short stroking it would give you only 60GB. What happens to the other 240GB? Rendered useless?

hi i have 2 ssd on diff capacity do i need a floppy drive for drivers or something

I've heard 3 drives is better than 4 due to latency stuff but i doubt i'll notice when i have tons of throughput.
