Senator Franken asks questions exposing the ability for companies to bury the truth of complaints through binding arbitration by preventing employees taking their complaints into the public domain. Binding arbitration means both parties complainant and defendant agreeing to a third party making judgment upon a dispute outside the established court system. Binding means exactly that, you agree to be bound by the decision of the arbitrator. In this case it appears that the defence contractor employing Jamie had a binding arbitration obligation in its contracts.
