Considering that Cuba has full and open relations with China, Russia, the European Union, Canada, and Southeast Asia, the idea that all the economic troubles stem from the U.S. blockade are ludicrous. Iran doesn't trade extensively with the U.S. and its doing fine. The Cuban government has the highest government sanctioned murder rate per capita in the world. Castro is a common criminal and the blood of Elian's mother, along with millions of others, is on his hands.

Castro: Not willing to compromise socialism, that has proven to be useless. If the government in the island were to be a little open to commerce (which is part of capitalism) then the rest of the world would establish ties with them. The blockade does NOT affect Fidel or Raul, they have lobster for lunch, the rest of the people barely make it. But this isn't the capitalist world's fault, it's Cuba's stubbornness to give freedom, as they preach equality, they impose social slavery!!!
