A Grey Wagtail feeds its chicks in the nest.

The Grey Wagtail is more colourful than its name suggests with slate grey upper parts and distinctive lemon yellow under-tail. Its tail is noticeably longer than those of pied and yellow wagtails. They have gradually increased their range in the past 150 years and in the UK have expanded into the English lowlands from the northern and western uplands. They are badly affected by harsh winters, and because of recent moderate declines it is an Amber List species.

  • Excellent - your patience was rewarded!

  • @butterfliesonfilm thank you

  • Wonderful short film.

  • @just1snap Thanks glad you enjoyed it

  • I noted while watching this, that you have that wonderful eye for the "hidden worlds" of activity. Those places that are really under foot and within arms reach, but places that most people pass by without noticing. I really enjoy being shown there is life and activity almost everywhere, if we look. Brian.

  • @dagocleo Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed it.

  • that was cool and very crisp shots !

  • @Roolooth99 Yes I've found the stills quality dropped when they went for the MOS sensor to enable the 1080i mode and faster burst rate shooting. If you zoom in on a still you will see the very irregular image pattern. It doesn't seem to make much difference between raw processed and the incamera jpeg the image is still the same and its also more work to convert every image. It did improve the video though, pity they didn't implement 1080p, that would be a better solution. Limit to iso 400 for IQ

  • @ghough12 Thanks Graham. I used a Lumix FZ 100. I'm impressed with the video recording. I've only had the camera a few days and am still experimenting and to get use to it. Results with photos are not so good though maybe its just a case of getting use to handling the camera. I prevously had a Lumix T10 and found it to be very good for both stills and video. When you use the FZ 100 for photos do you take them in jpeg or raw?
