If the only thing NFC does is replace your credit card with your phone, I see no real advantage. Of course, Google Wallet is more capable than a "dumb" credit card, but there's still the problem of "does the store where I want to shop support NFC payments?". I know Google has partnered with many of the larger stores, but Google Wallet probably won't be that interesting to me, until stores that support NFC payments are as ubiquitous as stores that accept credit card.
