Made in 1984 this short documentary tells the story of the
legendary 19th century wanderer, the Leatherman. His circular route brought
him through towns in New York and Connecticut on a very regular schedule. A
new book about the Leatherman, with new information, will be published
shortly by Wesleyan University press.
Thanks for posting! This is excellent!

Thanks for posting. I live in Ossining and have seen the Leatherman's original grave site. It was recently moved and he was given a new stone, though they found no physical remains when they dug it up. I guess he's still wandering around somewhere. :)

A good documentary about a good tale. I've long had a good bit of fascination of the lifestyle of drifters and vagabonds, so the Leatherman is of particular interest to me. Thanks indeed for posting this.
