Ian is no peasant. He transformed this song, gave it atmosphere, and his voice is the best in the world. Leonard would probably approve, his singing voice isn't up to this and he passes his singing on to geniuses like the Webb Sisters.

Ian excels at Leonard Cohen songs - he (Ian) proclaimed himself an admirer of Leonard long before it was fashionable. Ian also does a wonderful version of "Hey That's No Way to Say Goodbye".
