World Trade Center-1973

This is 1973 Super 8 video from a harbor cruise my grandparents took with my mom and uncles in New York City shortly after the World Trade Center twin towers were completed. I think a lot of people should see it because it's both sad and incredibly inspirational to me and I think you will all enjoy this rare glimpse into what seems like a far away past...but it wasn't really all that long ago. Remember when.

Actually the music is just an instrumental open source song I found on YouTube, but it's based off the '70 s song "the Edmunds Fitzgerald" as far as I know, though the tune for that song could have been based off an old folk song. I thought it was a nice fit. I had originally chosen Frank Sinatra's song "Golden Moment", about living your golden moment that is your prime of life and making it count because that summer of your life is over before you know it, then it's " September" before you kno

I live near Chicago, only a couple hours west, and I'm very dissatisfied with the Willis Tower thing. I didn't know they were planning to paint it grey, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm really upset they are not building the spire. Isn't the whole draw and interest of the Chicago skyline based on the variety of styles and innovations over the years? It's not an architectural museum after all! They need to let it evolve and grow. A bit of change and excitement would be good for Chicago right now

I wish we could go back in time and not just to have the tragedy not occur, but in some ways...I guess, simpler times. As an Illinois resident, I am excited about the revitalization of the Chicago waterfront. Some very exciting new architecture, like the Spire, are being built. NYC will always be the greatest in my mind, but I do hope they can figure out what to do soon. Right now, it's just a scar on the landscape.

@emajeski The Spire project was stopped, that tower would scar the iconic image of the Chicago Skyline. The Chicago Skyline is gonna be a mess, I heard they are considering to paint the Sears Tower(Willis Tower) Gray.
