A bottling wand / bottle filler is a small, hard plastic piece of tubing that features a gravity or spring valve on the open end. Liquid passing through the tubing is stopped by this valve until pressed upon, which then opens the valve. This device is very helpful when bottling beer or wine because simply lifting the valved end off of the bottom of the full bottle stops the flow of beer until it is depressed again in the next empty bottle. Bottle fillers are designed to be attached to the end of siphon tubing, but some models and modifications have made it so bottle fillers can be attached to the actual spigot of a bottling bucket; thus eliminating the need to use long siphon tubing.
