Hey guys, just a 'quality control' test of our new 'ident' - you know, the random ducks and web addresses that keep popping up in our videos.

Anyhoo - with our new HD video equipment, and YouTube's HD capabilities, we thought we'd better get an HD ident for our work. This video is just a sneak peak for you, and a test for us to make sure we're exporting our video files properly!

  • Quality is awful. Once again YouTube has taken a video, ****ed it up, and presented to the world so that the world can tell us how awful our video is... *sigh*

It looks SO good on the computer before uploading, it's 1280x720, square pixels, 6Mbps Target bitrate, 10Mbps max bitrate, H.264 (which churns out a nice MP4 file)....

And at the time of posting this message, it's not giving us a 'watch in HD' option either.... wtf?

  • After commenting, and refreshing the page - the 'watch in HD' option has appeared, and the HD version of the video actually looks AWESOME!

Dunno why the first second of the video comes out as a plain grey image, but hey, it's only one second.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU WAIT UNTIL THE VIDEO HAS FULLY DOWNLOADED BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO WATCH IN HD!

    Thanks for your support,

The TXDP Crew - Now available in HD.... ;-)

  • Ok, since posting the SECOND comment, the original standard definition version of this video started looking better than it did originally - I wonder if YouTube churns out a 'rough copy' of a video then works on making it better?
