why not build a 1x1 tower with a pressureplate on top and put the tnt on the side of the top block?

also who the fuck brings a single torch into the mineshaft?

@WaldosPurpleCrow Because then the first tnt will land and explode on the second tnt, causing a chain reaction which would be very unsafe and probably kill you, and destroy most of the land around you.

And I didn't really plan the going down the mine shaft thing well enough =P

@nikobroo Wouldn't it be easier to to just mine it yourself instead of of going through the trouble of building it? Also if their is any rare things like diamonds wouldn't the TNT destroy them which would make it so you can't collect any?

@SPARTAN9999999991 Yes, it would be easier to just mine a 1x2 hole yourself, and valuable items will be destroyed by tnt. This is more a fun project than an effective one. The point is to get to bedrock with the press of a button. It is not portable in any way (except for with MCEdit or WorldEdit), and very expensive to make. For a more portable one, see the light version (link in the description) :)

the auto miner I made with my buddies on my server is cool too.

it's a conveyor belt system only taking up a 20x3 + a redstone system only taking up 15x3 and igniter that is only 3x5. it was awesome!
