@BrokenHorn90 Hi BrokenHorn. It's not the time you take to press the key what make it faster, is the time you waste on other keyboards to check if you pressed the key right or not (mentally). The instant feedback and confirmation from each key is what makes it the best keyboard ever. Also the space between keys and their size is the ideal for long hours of typing. It's just perfect.

@macrojd Of course, all that said, mechanical key switches are some of the _most_ comfortable things to lay your fingertips on ~o~ You can practically type for hours on end without getting as much strain as you would on most other keyboards :-)

@macrojd The average space or "travel distance" from key to switch on a mechanical keyboard is ~ 3.5 to 4.0 mm; in contrast, a rubber dome keyboard is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 mm. Scissor key switches, such as those on laptops, have travel distances typically less than 2 mm (sometimes as low as 0.5 mm). In terms of productivity, mechanical keyboards aren't the fastest to type on, especially when you consider that most people nowadays like to "bottom out" when they type.

@sa12cuber The differences are subtle and not much to worry about. Even the brand-new Unicomps are almost exactly the same.

DAT model M

@bood3e the feedback provided by the keyboard increases your typing speed, that's one of the great things about the Model M
