The disease picture that homeopathic zinc treats has "loss of smell" as one of its characteristics. When remedies are taken too often they "prove" themselves (google "homeopathic provings"). If this is done too much it may lead to "grafting" their characteristic into the body. This is a serious problem that sometimes never goes away.

The only reason homoeopathy exists is that a homoepathic 'physician' was a member of congress when the FDA was setup and he forced a bunch of exceptions into the law. Congress, in their 'infinite wisdom', has never gotten around to changing the appropriate laws.

Who would have thought that drinking water doesn't cure diseases :D

@sogghartha It's disgusting how these products are marketed in our country without any noise about what they actually are.
My aunt... who's a really smart normal person... was talking about how she bought homeopathic sleeping medicine and she said it seemed like it kind of worked. Haha! I couldn't believe it.

I tried Zicam lozenges and all that happens is that it caused me to break out in hives. Turns out I'm alergic to zinc. :-S

I got to see James Randi give a talk about this subject... brilliant

this guy/girl doesnt even know what it is? and he think that he knows everything else.

@Akira625 That's true, but there is some data suggesting that the “smarter” people are, the less likely they are to believe in deities, because atheists generally score higher on IQ tests.
-
@xXvolhvXx Well, even smart people get caught up in things that have no basis on reality, hence so many religious people in the world who fervently believe in their gods despite any concrete evidence.
-
@Akira625 I'm not sure if I agree with what you're saying. If a person is stupid enough to prefer the scams over the actual medicine, maybe they deserve to be ripped off. However, if we're dealing with private healthcare, I do believe that fraudulent therapies should be outlawed, so as to set the law in favor of the real doctors.
I need some homeopathic gasoline - the price is killing me...

@petekrusetunes The very base premise of homeopathy is easily debunked by anyone who's been through high school chemistry class, you don't need to be a physician. James Randi was a stage 'magician', he knows how cons work, which is why he's the perfect man to unmask con men. Homeopathy is a con.
