As you see, two weeks ago I had my jaw reconstructed
And now my diet's just a little disrupted
I had an underbite, but now it's all fixed up
And I'm stuck drinking Ensure through a sippy cup
I remove my rubber bands 'round three times a day
Then I eat my puréed soup the oral syringe way
I used to look like this but I'm a bit more swollen
At least everything's still alright with my colon
But through this whole process, I've learned a great deal
Like not to take for granted my ability to eat a meal
And also to value my communication skills
And to appreciate all of life's thrills
I'm glad I had it done 'cause now I have a healthy bite
Soon enough I'll be able to eat a bagel right

Very awesome! I had jaw surgery for my jaw, too! I remember how awful it was to eat pureed and liquid food... blech. Any chance you had yours done by a Dr. Sachs at LIJ? He was my doc, and he was great!
